The Dominican Ecclesial Institute, or D+E+I, in Albuquerque, NM, announces Fr. Allan White, OP, will serve as their 2013 visiting Dominican professor from January 18-28, 2013. He will be in Albuquerque, NM to help celebrate the Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas and will speak to a wide range of local audiences. Postings of his public speaking engagements will appear on the D+E+I website in the near future.
Fr. White was born in London and entered the Dominican Order in 1973, after completing his university studies at Oxford. He once served as Socius (assistant) to the Master of the Order, responsible for the Order in northwest Europe and Canada and is currently ministering to the parish of Saint Joseph and New York University in New York City. Fr. White has previously served as university chaplain, seminary lecturer and taught in the universities of Oxford and Cambridge as well as editing New Blackfriars. He has served as Provincial of the English Dominican Province and President of the Organization of European Dominican Provincials. Fr. Allan holds a doctorate in Theology and Church history from the University of Edinburgh, as well as a summa cum laude Lector in Sacred Theology degree from Blackfriars, Oxford.
