The Board of Trustees of Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis and the Provincial Council of the Province of St. Albert the Great recently approved Fr. David Caron, O.P., as president of Aquinas Institute. He had been serving as Acting President since August, 2012, during which time the Board conducted a broader search and considered other candidates.
Fr. Charles E. Bouchard, O.P., remarked after the announcement, “This is a new and happy moment of collaboration for our two provinces. The challenges for all independent schools are great, but Dave brings a new perspective, different experience, a great personality and strong support from the Aquinas Community. I am grateful to him for his willingness to assume this responsibility now. He knows he has the full support of both provinces.”
In a statement, the Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson, Archbishop of St. Louis, said that Aquinas Institute, had become a “catechetical powerhouse both locally and beyond when it comes to training and equipping future preachers and evangelists.”
